To become a licensed motor vehicle dealer in Florida, you must attend either a one-day or two-day pre-licensing course, depending on the type of dealer you wish to become. Live, in-person classes are held each month in various locations throughout the state. Please carefully read the course descriptions below to determine which course you should register for.

Motor Vehicle Franchise Dealer Pre-Licensing One-Day Course

This is a DMV-approved one-day motor vehicle dealer pre-licensing course to obtain a franchise motor vehicle dealer license to sell new autos, trucks, motorcycles and trailers over 2,000 pounds. You may also sell used vehicles with this license, but if you are only selling used vehicles (instead of new vehicles), you must take the two-day course for independent dealers. Florida Motor Vehicle Titles and Registrations Made Simple

This is a comprehensive one-day course that covers all the most common transactions that a motor vehicle dealer will encounter in processing title and registration work on behalf of customers. Past participants included those with no title experience to those with over 20 years of experience. All took away valuable information and learned about laws and requirements they were not aware of.
